Welcome to Vampire Hunter D: Twilight, a Vampire Hunter D-based Role Playing game.

The year is approximately 12,200 AD and thanks to the efforts of vampire hunters, the 'Nobles' have fallen from grace as humanity has regained some control over the Earth's rule. However, the most famous of all the vampire hunters, the mysterious 'D' has disappeared, seemingly without a trace. The Nobles have taken advantage of this fact and are attempting to take back what they have lost. Now, a race is on, between those who want to find and help the missing D, and those who want to make sure he never comes back...

Which side are you on? Will you help find D to aid him or destroy him?

Race Information:

There are four main races in VHD: Twilight:

Humans:
Humans are the most prolific sentient species in this story, however they are also low man on the totem pole in terms of physical and magical powers yet their mastery of technology has helped them defend themselves in this chaotic world. Many human settlements have thrown off the shackles of the Nobility (Vampires) as many of the Nobility view them as food and property, but with the disappearance of D, the famous Vampire Hunter, more and more human settlements have been falling back under the rule of the Nobles.

Mutants:
Mutants’ only started to appear after the Cataclysm that destroyed the world we know today; whether they are results of experiments by humans before the Cataclysm, or by the Nobles after is still fiercely disputed and the Mutants aren’t talking. One thing that is known is they are humanoid creatures with bizarre abilities that are usually in the employ of the Nobles. One famous group of Mutants are known only as The Barbarois, as they sell their infamous skills to the highest bidder and are fiercely loyal to their employers. Examples of mutants are were-creatures, time/space manipulators, etc.

Dhampirs/Dunpeals:
The result of a mating between a vampire and a human, these half-breeds are rarely accepted into either society (although they are more likely to be accepted by Nobility than humans) and are known to have many vampire abilities (such as enhanced strength and speed, and their bloodlust) and few of their weaknesses (while they are weaker during the day than they are at night, they can still function during the day). Dhampirs do make excellent vampire hunters thanks to their abilities.

Nobles (Vampires):
Vampires (or ‘Nobles’ as they like to call themselves) have been around almost as long as humanity, but it was only after the Cataclysm (World War III) they rose to power, dominating the humans using their magic as well as hordes of monsters and mutants under their command to become the new ruling class of the Earth. For decades they ruled the land, but a slow decline occurred over the years due to their own mistakes as well as a new breed of ‘vampire hunters’ (both human and dhampir) hunting them and destroying them. However, now with the disappearance of D, the most powerful vampire hunter of them all, they are positioned perfectly to make one last grab for power and secure their position as the world’s rulers. Vampires can breed with each other and with humans in this world; they can also 'turn' humans into ghouls (when they drain them and kill them, which is what they normally do when they want some quick and easy, zombie-like minons) or into Vampires (when they share blood with a human), but they do not enjoy doing the latter as they all seem to share an obsession with keeping their bloodlines "pure" by not breeding with such low-class creatures.

"'But I don’t want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can’t help that,' said the Cat. 'We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.'
'How do you know I’m mad?' said Alice.
'You must be,' said the Cat. 'or you wouldn’t have come here.'"
